Madonna erinnerte bei Billboard Awards an Prince
Mit einem emotionalen Auftritt hat Pop-Diva Madonna bei der Verleihung der Billboard-Awards an den vor rund einem Monat gestorbenen Sänger Prince erinnert. Auch die kanadische Sängerin Celine Dion, die bei der Gala am Sonntagabend (Ortszeit) in Las Vegas für ihr Lebenswerk ausgezeichnet wurde, legte einen emotionalen Auftritt hin, mit dem sie ihrem im Januar gestorben Ehemann Rene Angelil gedachte.
Sängerin Adele wurde mit dem Top-Preis der besten Künstlerin geehrt, konnte sich die Auszeichnung wegen ihrer Welt-Tournee aber nicht persönlich abholen. Ihre Kollegin Kesha sang eine Coverversion von Bob Dylans „It Ain’t Me, Babe“.
Ihr Auftritt hatte im Vorfeld für Wirbel gesorgt, weil ihr Ex-Produzent, mit dem sie sich derzeit vor Gericht streitet, ihn zunächst hatte verhindern wollen. Seit 1990 werden die Billboard Music Awards jährlich von dem gleichnamigen Fachmagazin verliehen, sie basieren größtenteils auf Chartplatzierungen. (dpa/AP)
