Eines der besterhaltenen Tyrannosaurus-Rex-Skelette kommt in New York unter den Hammer.

Er heißt Stan, ist ca. 67 Millionen Jahre alt und sucht ein neues Zuhause. Wer sich den Traum vom eigenen T. Rex erfüllen will, braucht allerdings etwas Kleingeld. Stan, benannt nach seinem Entdecker, war zwei Jahrzehnte lang Forschungsobjekt am Black Hills Institute in South Dakota. Jetzt solle er verkauft werden. Stans Wert wird auf mindestens 6 bis 8 Millionen Dollar geschätzt.

Am 6. Oktober gelangt das Fossil zur Versteigerung. Bis dahin freut sich Stan über Besuch. Das Auktionshaus hat ihn an prominenter Stelle im Rockefeller Center ausgestellt, wo er bis 21. Oktober rund um die Uhr von der Straße aus betrachtet werden kann.
